The Game Awards-nominated Dredge is making its way to mobile (Android, iOS) and Mac later this year, on December 18th. As announced by Black Salt Games programmer/writer, Joel Mason on X, “huge day for the steam forums bros who said Dredge looks like a mobile game.β Later confirmed by Black Salt Games on their official channels.
Dredge, developed by Christchurch-based Black Salt Games, is a single-player fishing game that takes the “cosy” genre and flips it on its head with eldritch horror and a “sinister undercurrent.β Dredge attracted widespread acclaim on itβs 2023 release and currently sits at Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam, totaling over 29,000 reviews. Dredge is currently available on Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch.
A demo will be available for iOS and Mac users, who also have the ability to pre-order the mobile edition. Currently this is not available for Android users as Black Salt Games are trying to confirm ownership with Mason saying, “Google doesn’t believe we own the rights to our own game.β The mobile version of Dredge will be a premium purchase and will contain the full game, although it is not fully confirmed if this will also include DLC content such as the recent Iron Rig.
