Eternal Strands – Brennig Glasstail (Locus Point + Extract Strand)

Eternal Strands - Brennig Glasstail (Locus Point + Extract Strand)

The Brennig Glasstail in Eternal Strands is quite a lot harder to deal with compared to the previous Ark Of The Stricken Earth and Ark Of The Living Flame. This beast hits harder, its elemental damage is harder to avoid, and the extraction process is more involved.

First, before you fight the Brennig Glasstail, you’ll need to make sure you have the “Drakes Breath” magic ability, or extracting might be impossible. Also, it is heavily recommended to bring frost resistance potions, as you’ll be running into frost damage a lot through this fight.

Brennig Glasstail Locus Point

The Brennig Glasstail’s strand location/locus point is on the back of its neck; however, it’s covered in a thick mane of fur. First you’ll need to climb on its back and burn this mane away; a few seconds of fire directed to it will burn this away.

Next, there are ice spikes all over its body that need to be destroyed: one spike on each of its front arms, one on its head, one on its chin, two on its back, and one on its tail area.

Compared to the great ark enemies, this beast is more erratic in its movement, so be sure to be holding on at all times, or you may get sent flying. On top of this, the Brennig Glasstail will frequently release frost damage on its back, so be sure to use frost resistance before or during the fight as mentioned before.

You can let go of the Glasstail’s back and stand up to regain your stamina. However, sometimes its movements can be quite hard to predict, so be careful when letting go in case you are thrown off.

Once each of these spikes are destroyed and the mane is removed, the Brennig Glasstail needs to be stunned in order for the extraction point to show.

Eternal Strands - Brennig Glasstail

The Brennig Glasstail, at least in our experience, stuns itself trying to hit you and only happens when all its spikes and mane are removed.

It’s pretty sporadic on how it stuns itself; sometimes it has slammed its head into the ground while you’re in front of it. Other times it has stunned itself while I’m still on its back.

You’ll know when it’s stunned; you’ll see cloud-like daze symbols around its head, the symbol under its health bar will appear, and the back of its neck will glow, making it pretty hard to miss.

However, you do have a limited time window, so you have to be fairly quick before it starts moving again and have to wait for it to restun itself.

This enemy, unlike the Great Arks, does not try to grab you and throw you off but the Brennig Glasstail still shakes erratically possibly even throwing you further than the previous enemies. Its ability to send out ice waves will also be troublesome with no frost resistance.

As long as you stay on the back of the beast for the majority of the fight, the Brennig Glasstail won’t give you too much trouble.
