Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii Announced at RGG Summit

The Like A Dragon series continues to explore wackier and weirder directions, with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega revealing Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii at the September 2024 RGG Summit. This time, series wild card and favorite, Goro Majima takes center stage, embarking on a pirate adventure that mixes the familiar over the top action with a pirate theme. Scheduled for release on February 28, 2025.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii follows Majima as he sets out locating some lost treasure (as all prates do) with hints of ship combat and exploration that bring us back to the good old shanty singing days of Assassin Creed IV: Black Flag.

The game’s reveal trailer linked below opens with Majima washed ashore on Rich Island, near Hawaii, looking battered and confused. He’s soon helped by a young boy accompanied by a pet tiger, a quirky duo that fits right into the world of Like A Dragon. The scene, introduced by Majima himself, is a flashback to six months prior, teasing a mystery surrounding how he ended up stranded on the beach.

RGG are on a roll with releases, mixing in mainline entries with spin offs at a rapid pace and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is expanding on the series wacky side and I cannot wait to see what this entry has in store.
