Nintendo treated us to one last Nintendo Direct before setting sights on the Nintendo Switch 2, which has its own Direct presentation very soon, April 3rd (NZT)!
We got new Nintendo Switch features, new game announcements, and another look at Nintendo’s upcoming titles, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends Z-A. Let’s take a look at everything that was shown!
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
Starting off the direct, we got another look at Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. With III previously getting this treatment, Square Enix is now set to release this RPG collection for Dragon Quest fans later this year.
No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files
No Sleep For Kaname Date is the next entry in the AI: The Somnium Files series. Players will be able to step back into investigative gameplay and mysterious puzzles on July 25th.
Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army
Originally released on PS2 in 2006, Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army brings devil summoning and real-time battles to Nintendo Switch with updated graphics and gameplay updates, coming June 19th.
Shadow Labyrinth
Pac-Man is back, and not how you’d expect. Shadow Labyrinth takes our familiar friend and places us in a dark Metroidvania world. Capcom is bringing this unusual spin to Switch on July 18th.
Patapon 1+2 Replay
Patapon 1+2 Replay brings the original music-based PSP titles with new gameplay updates on July 11th.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
One of the highlights of the showcase was another look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. We got a look at Samus’s psychic powers as well as a new suit. Still slated for 2025, but no exact release date. Maybe we’ll get some more news at the Switch 2 Direct?
Disney Villains Cursed Cafe
Disney Villains Cursed Cafe is out today! Take on a coffee shop turned potion cafe and serve various villains and get to know them beyond the screen.
Witchbrook
Witchbrook is a cozy witch life sim; think Stardew Valley with a more magic-focused flair. Available later this year, Witchbrook will feature co-op gameplay and chill academy vibes.
The Eternal Life of Goldman
The Eternal Life of Goldman is a new platformer adventure with a great looking art style available later this year. Explore a dangerous archipelago in this vibrant but dark adventure.
Gradius Origins
Gradius Origins brings this classic shoot-em-up collection to Switch on August 7th.
Tamagotchi Plaza
Tamagotchi Plaza is the latest entry in the Tamagotchi Connections series. Explore a variety of shops with their own cute minigames as you make the town vibrant and full of life. Coming to Switch June 27th.
Pokémon Legends Z-A
We got another look at gameplay in Pokémon Legends Z-A, with a focus on Pokémon locations including rooftops, and other nooks in the city. This trailer also showed a glimpse of the Z-A Royale, a tournament where you move up the rankings as you take on various trainers.
Rhythm Heaven Groove
Rhythm Heaven Groove is the new entry in The Rhythm Heaven series. Featuring a number of rhythm games with “music produced by Japanese musician Tsunku”, coming to Switch in 2026.
Virtual Game Cards on Nintendo Switch
We got an exciting new Switch feature: Virtual Game Cards. Allowing you to share all your digitally purchased games as if they were physical cards, virtually ejecting and inserting them into another system. This feature is a great addition and hopefully may even set something in motion for PS5 and Xbox game sharing.
SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered
SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is releasing today on the Switch, updating graphics with a higher resolution, rebuilt UI and a number of features to modernise gameplay.
Everybody Golf Hot Shots
The long running Everbody’s Golf series continues with Hot Shots, complete with new challenges, tournaments and unique characters to face off against. Arriving later this year.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
Marvel Cosmic Invasion, made by the same team behind TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, is bringing this arcade brawling action to the Marvel cast of characters. Coming later this year.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
Tomodachi Life returns with a new title after ten years, Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, coming sometime in 2026. Create your Mii characters and watch their lives unfold, from relationships to wacky experiences.
Nintendo Today
Rounding out the Direct, Shigeru Miyamoto appeared and introduced a new app: Nintendo Today. This app will feature daily news, releases and events, tailored to your own preferences. Keep an eye on this app for daily doses of news on the Nintendo Switch 2 after its upcoming Direct!
