Path Of Exile fans now have to wait three extra weeks for early access.
Announced on Path of Exile’s social channels and their website, Path of Exile 2’s early access release date has now been pushed to December 6th.
Jonathan Rogers, game director for Path of Exile 2, announced the delay of three weeks, explaining that the game itself is ready to go but more time is needed for “server side infrastructure work that has taken us a lot longer than we expected.”
One of the main server-side tasks that has pushed the early access release date, as explained in the announcement, is integrating user accounts across both Path of Exile 1 and 2, as well as for console versions.
“One of the key promises we made is that all your microtransactions will work across both Path of Exile 1 and 2. In order to do that, we have to integrate the account systems for not only Path of Exile 1 and 2, but also for the console realms as well.
We have to get everything perfect so that nobody loses anything they paid for, and nobody has their account broken.”
Jonathan also said to stay tuned for an upcoming stream in 4 weeks time, covering the various content we can expect to see in Path of Exile 2 when it hits early access. The full early access delay announcement can be watched below.
Path of Exile 2, developed by Grinding Gear Games, is releasing in Early Access and coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC on December 6th.
