These are the best cards in each pack to look out for in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket!
Pokemon TCG Pocket has taken the world by storm, allowing players to once again dive into the trading card game in digital form. Allowing players to open packs and collect cards with the option of participating in battles.
On release, there are three different booster packs available to choose from: Mewtwo, Pikachu, and Charizard packs, with each offering their own exclusive selection of cards. We’ll go through the best cards to aim for, which pack they are in, and their relation to the current Pokemon TCG Pocket meta.
1. Mewtwo EX (Mewtwo Pack)
The main card every player wants to go for in the Mewtwo packs. Boasting a mighty 150 HP with an equally mighty attack in Psydrive.
Its 2 energy attack, Psychic Sphere can also dispatch most basic Pokemon with ease while building towards Psydrive, hindering players from getting their team started.
Mewtwo needs to be dealt with immediately otherwise its attacks will roll through opposing Pokemon. Paired with a Gardevoir for its psychic energy generate ability every turn and Mewtwo becomes an unstoppable force.
2. Starmie EX (Charizard Pack)
If you prefer quicker starting rush decks, then consider this number one for you.
Starmie has an incredibly easy setup, a very low cost for 90 damage, and a considerable amount of 130 HP. Starmie is a beast of a card that can have a dramatic effect on any playing field.
Paired with a 0 cost retreat, Starmie is easily one of the best cards right now in the current meta.
3. Pikachu EX (Pikachu Pack)
Pikachu, the face of Pokemon, and rightfully so, is one of the best cards to get in Pokemon TCG Pocket in the current meta.
Offering a 2 energy cost for a powerful attack as long as your bench is full. Pikachu EX can change the field in quick fashion, Pikachu EX also makes up one of the main meta decks.
4. Articuno (Mewtwo Pack)
We see our first legendary bird on the list. It almost seems unfair being able to summon these legendary birds on turn one.
The main point of attack is Blizzard dealing good damage in its own right but also hitting every benched pokemon for 10 damage. Paired with Starmie and Misty (further below on this list), you’ve got a lethal trio.
5. Charizard EX (Charizard Pack)
The main pick in the Charizard pack is the beast himself.
One of the highest healths and the strongest attack with Crimson Storm at 200 damage! This attack is capable of one hitting any Pokemon when unleashed. Paired with Moltres for a quicker fire energy ramp, Charizard becomes a very big problem, very fast.
6. Moltres EX (Charizard Pack)
A strong card in its own right that has an essential place in any fire deck with its Inferno Dance, providing great fire energy ramping. Paired with a Charizard and you’ll be an unstoppable force.
7. Sabrina (Charizard Pack)
The most essential trainer card in our opinion. Forcing a player to swap their active with a benched Pokemon disrupts any plan in some capacity. Even if someone is somewhat prepared for this, Sabrina will almost always slow the enemy strategy down.
8. Zapdos EX (Pikachu Pack)
The third legendary bird on our list. Offering a one energy cost attack that can get things rolling as you build up your other cards such as Pikachu.
Thundering Hurricane, although luck based can be a massive game changer, along with a one cost retreat, Zapdos is a great addition to any electric deck.
9. Misty (Pikachu Pack)
Misty’s blue energy generator is an essential pair with Articuno and Starmie or any water deck in general. Helping players get ahead almost immediately.
Misty + Starmie/Articuno = auto concede.
10. Venusaur EX (Mewtwo Pack)
Boasting 180 health and a 100 power attack that self-heals? Need we say more?
Venusaur is ranked lower because of the other cards terrific synergy capabilities and relevance to the current meta. Keep an eye on the meta over time, and Venusaur may become more of a prime pick.
