State Of Play for February 2025 has finished and what a showcase it was! This was another solid showing from PlayStation, full of new announcements and a large number of release dates!
Let’s take a look at everything that was shown below!
Monster Hunter Wilds – Launch Trailer
Monster Hunter Wilds is right around the corner; we got another trailer hyping up the next entry in the Capcom franchise, as well as a look at the first update for the title that will feature the monster Mizutsune. Some of our team is understandably very hyped for this!
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
The Shinobi returns in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance in a new trailer, showing 2D combat and platforming, with a release date of August 28th.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
We got an announcement trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, full of bright, colourful tracks and all your favourite Sega characters. Excited players can jump in early with a closed network test taking place soon on February 22nd.
Digimon Story Time Stranger
Digimon is returning with Digimon Story Time Stranger, published by Bandai Namco. Coming sometime in 2025.
Lost Soul Aside
Lost Soul Aside received a gameplay trailer along with a release date of May 30th. Originally a tech demo, this title has evolved into a full-fledged action RPG.
Splitgate 2 Alpha
The portal-jumping shooter, Splitgate 2, will be undergoing an Alpha on February 27th. Featuring “8v8v8 Multi-Team Portal Warfare”.
WWE 2K25
Paul Heyman showed up to introduce WWE 2K25 and its new area: The Island. Players can take their own superstar through this WWE-themed multiplayer world on March 14th.
Borderlands 4
We got another good look at Borderlands 4 along with a release date of September 22nd. Gearbox announced we can expect to see more details on Borderlands 4 with a dedicated State of Play later this year.
Split Fiction
The next title from Hazelight Studios, Split Fiction got a new story trailer. Split Fiction is releasing March 6th.
Directive 8020
The next title from Supermassive Games, Directive 8020, takes the horror studio in a sci-fi direction, releasing on October 2nd.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
Continuing on in the horror space, we got a new trailer and release date for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic. Releasing on June 13th.
The Midnight Walk
One of our most anticipated from the showcase: The Midnight Walk. We got a new trailer showing gameplay in a first-person perspective along with a release date of May 8th.
Darwin’s Paradox!
Shifting gears to something more upbeat is Darwin’s Paradox coming from Konami. Take on the role of an octopus on a mission to get back to the ocean.
Warriors: Abyss
Warriors: Abyss takes the Warriors franchise (such as Dynasty Warriors & Samurai Warriors) and adds roguelike to the mix, releasing today!
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
We got a good look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword and the protagonist in less than ideal circumstances. Releasing in 2026.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Rumours and leaks were confirmed with a release date trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, releasing August 28th. Did we see Ape Escape, or are we going crazy?
Hell Is Us
The release dates keep coming with Hell Is Us, announcing a release date of September 4th. Check out what we currently know about Hell Is Us!
Other announcements for State Of Play February 2025
- Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii – Demo releases this Friday ahead of release on February 20th.
- Dave The Diver x Like a Dragon Crossover DLC – Ichibans Holiday. Releasing April 2025.
- Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, a remake of the 2nd title from the PS2, releasing on May 23rd.
- Days Gone Remastered – Releasing April 25th.
- February’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog will feature Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, TopSpin 2K25 and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1.
- Blue Prince – A puzzle game coming day one to PS Plus Games Catalogue later this year.
- PS Plus Classic Additions – Armored Core + Patapon 3
This State Of Play had a great showing. We got a surprisingly large number of release dates along with new title reveals from Housemarque, Konami, and Build a Rocket Boy. Before the showcase, the later half of this year was looking a bit empty with the anticipation of Grand Theft Auto VI’s release date. That’s now changed with a number of titles taking up spots in the later half of 2025.
