The Last Of Us Season 2 Release Date Confirmed

The Last Of Us Season 2 Release Date

The Last Of Us Season 2 has been confirmed to be airing this April. During CES (Consumer Electronics Show), Sony had their own press conference with a number of announcements, including details on The Last Of Us television show.

A new teaser trailer was shown for the second season, as well as a confirmed release period of April 2025, which is only a few months away. The second season will be focused on the events from the second video game, The Last Of Us Part II, with the trailer highlighting characters such as Abby, Ellie, and Joel.

The second season is confirmed to have seven episodes, making it slightly shorter than the first season. However, a potential third season will be “significantly larger”. In an interview, show creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann say that The Last Of Us Part II has a lot more story material compared to the first game. “…part of what we had to do from the start was figure out how to tell that story across seasons” Mazin said. “When you do that, you look for natural breakpoints, and as we laid it out, this season, the national breakpoint felt like it came after seven episodes.”

The Last Of Us show is based on the original video games developed by Naughty Dog. With the second season coming in April, now is a great time to dive into the video games as well as rewatching the first season!
